Second hand clothes: Depop

As a follow up of my blog post about the clothes I have bought from charity shops over the years, I thought I would make another post about clothes I have bought second hand from Depop.

For those of you who don’t know, Depop is a second hand clothing app. I have bought several bits from it over the years and it is a great alternative to charity shops if you are looking for a more specific item. I have also sold a few items on Depop over the years that I no longer wear.

In the above photo, both the black mom jeans and the white trainers were bought from Depop – both of which I get lots of wear out of! I accidentally stained the jeans when I was cleaning, not long after I’d bought them, so I bought some black butterfly patches to sew on and cover the stains. This photo was taken by the Berlin Wall in 2021 – a beautiful city that I would recommend if you ever get the chance.

In this photo, the whole outfit was from Depop! The white jumper is a boxy oversized fit but it’s also cropped so it goes with everything. The blue mom jeans are another staple of my wardrobe. The black trainers are what I wear for running at the moment but as I mentioned in my last post, I am in need of some better fitting ones.

Here is a photo of me dressed as a fallen angel for Halloween last year. Not the most inventive outfit, I know, but it was easy to do and I only needed to buy a black halo so I found one for less than a fiver on Depop! The black skirt was another Depop purchase – in fact I believe it was the first thing I bought on there. I have had this skirt for years and continue to get lots of use out of it.

As you can see from these two photos, this yellow dress gets a lot of use too. I wore it as my graduation dress in 2019 but I had owned it for a while and wear it more casually as a nice summer dress too. I love the little bow at the back and of course the colour!

Another completely Depop outfit! This time in the lovely city of Budapest earlier this year. The yellow checkered dress is one I wear lots during summer, I love the colour, pattern and fit.

I had wanted some Doc Marten shoes like this for a while and couldn’t believe my luck when I found a vegan pair in my size for only £50 – considering they are over double that price for a new pair! I used to wear these every day to work, but get loads of use out of them outside of work too, all year round. They are very comfy shoes and go with pretty much anything.

These are some of my favourite purchases from Depop over the years. It is a great app that I will continue using for a long time, I’m sure!

I would love to hear from you in the comments if you use Depop and if so, what your favourite item you have bought from it is!
